If you are like most people, you are going crazy being cooped up in the house all day. With many local attractions closed due to COVID-19, it can be difficult to plan fun activities for the kiddos. As the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, located in Lincoln, NE, prepares to welcome visitors back, they are starting slow with a social distance Wildlife Walk. Grab the family and enjoy an afternoon learning about your favorite wildlife animals!

Many Activities to do at Lincoln Children’s Zoo Wildlife Walk
You and the family can now enjoy an afternoon of social distancing while still attending one of your favorite attractions. The Lincoln Children’s Zoo has created a one-way route through the zoo where families can learn about and visit the many animals that live there.

There are many fun stations to visit, such as the Animal Kingdom exhibit, Wrangler Roundup center, the Aviary, Stego’s Dino Dig, and much more. Unfortunately, there are some exhibits closed, such as the Play Stream and Wild Safari Theater. However, there are still many exhibits to explore.

Even if you do not have kids, the Wildlife Walk is still a fun activity that will get your out of the house and exercising those legs. Take an afternoon to revisit your childhood and say hello to your favorite wildlife critter. The fresh air is sure to leave you feeling refreshed.

Safety precautions taken at Lincoln Children’s Zoo
Lincoln Children’s Zoo is still taking safety precautions, such as purchasing tickets in advance. Ticket holders will be given a time slot to start the tour. Only a certain number of guests will be allowed into the zoo at one time, to ensure social distancing can be observed. Tickets will not be available for purchase at the gates but should be purchased at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo website. Masks will be required when entering indoor facilities.

Zoo hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last time slot for the Wildlife Walk is 3:45 p.m. The zoo is closed on Monday. During this time, the zoo will only be accepting credit and debit cards.
