What is Volkswagen 4MOTION® All-Wheel Drive?

What’s the Difference Between AWD vs. 4WD?

Both all-wheel drive and four-wheel drive systems increase traction, and while they may serve the same purpose, they’re not necessarily the same drivetrain. Here are a couple of key differences to consider:

Even though all tires are engaged, the system will distribute about 90% of power to the front axle and about 10% to the rear axle. This distribution of power results in the highly-responsive handling that you’d expect from a FWD vehicle, while also providing excellent traction as you drive throughout Bellevue.
