The Tiguan can seat between 5 and 7 people, depending on which version you buy. The FWD version comes with 7-person seating, the AWD one comes with 5-person seating (but can be upgraded to 7-person). The 7-person versions get 12, 33, and 65.7 cubic feet behind each of the three respective rows. The 5-seater gets 37.6 and 73.5 cubic feet behind its two rows. The RAV4? It gets 69.8 cubic feet with its two-row only seating.
The RAV4 has Toyota Entune which, true to the Toyota legacy, is a slow and clunky interface more reminiscent of bad PowerPoint presentations than something that should be seen in a 2020 vehicle. The Tiguan has a simple, clean, and responsive UI. Not only that, but it has a Digital Cockpit, which replaces the traditional gauges with a fully customizable 12.3 digital screen.
Volkswagen decided to rework their proprietary smart device service for 2020. Foremost, they expanded the eligible vehicles to almost all of the 2020 Volkswagen lineup. Similarly, the first 5 years of Car-Net® are free. The 2020 Tiguan also has a 4G-LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Owners can either add their Tiguan onto eligible existing plans or opt for a $20 per month pre-paid data plan.
