Passenger and Cargo Space Specs

As you can start to see from the specs above, the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is bigger than the 2018 GMC Acadia in just about every measurement. It is almost 5 inches longer overall which allows the Atlas to accommodate passengers and cargo a little easier compared to the 2018 Acadia, which is an important distinction to note if you are planning on using either vehicle as a family hauler - which most purchasers are.

Drivers and passengers in the first and third rows will notice more legroom in the 2018 Atlas. While the Atlas's first row is larger with about half an inch of extra legroom, it's the rear passengers who will notice the difference most as the Atlas offers more than 6 extra inches of legroom in the third row. That opens up the Atlas's third row to comfortably accommodate adult passengers as well as children.

The cargo space in the 2018 Atlas is also substantially larger. With all seats upright, the 2018 Atlas offers 20.6 cubic feet of space compared to the Acadia's 12.8 cubic feet of space. With the second and third-row seats folded flat, the 2018 Atlas offers 96.8 cubic feet of space compared to the Acadia's 79.0 cubic feet of space.

Note – These specs are specific to the base models of each vehicle and may be slightly different depending on trim levels or optional packages/add-ons.

The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is now available at the Schoworer Volkswagen dealership in Lincoln, Nebraska. Lincoln locals looking for a new family-hauler are encouraged to head to the dealership to see just what this three-row SUV has to offer.
