2019 Volkswagen Atlas R-Line Features
If you’re shopping for a new Volkswagen, you may have come across the term “R-Line,” whether as a package or a trim, and wondered just what it was all about. Let’s take a look at what R-Line is and what it brings to two trims of the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas.
What is Volkswagen R-Line?
The concept of Volkswagen R-Line descends from Volkswagen R, a performance-oriented subsidiary of Volkswagen that was founded in 2010 to be a sports label of the carmaker. R models represent the top performance vehicles of the Volkswagen brand.
R-Line features are available in the form of special trims, and more recently packages, on select Volkswagen models. R-Line trims and packages bring the looks and feel of Volkswagen R vehicles to other Volkswagen models, but do not provide upgraded engine power.
R-Line trims and packages make the car they’re applied to look and feel racing-inspired. It’s a great way to express one’s individuality and make a sporty statement. For example, check out the R-Line package on the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan.
What features come with Volkswagen R-Line trims and packages?
Features bestowed by Volkswagen R-Line trims and packages include R-Line badging on the front grill, sporty R-Line style front and rear bumpers, wheel arch extensions, and body colored side-skirts. The R-Line front bumper incorporates stylish air intakes while the rear brings along a glossy black diffuser.
Interior R-Line accents include an R-Line specific infotainment welcoming screen, R-Line steering wheel badge, and stainless steel door sills complete with the R-Line logo.
There are two R-Line trims available for the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas: the 2019 Atlas SE with Technology R-Line, and the 2019 Atlas SEL R-Line.
The R-Line upgrade on both of these trims of the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas gets you 20-inch wheels, along with unique bumpers, side skirts and badging. R-Line interior accents on the 2019 Atlas include stainless steel pedal caps, steering wheel badging, and the R-Line infotainment welcome screen.
