How to practice social distancing while exercising outdoors

As many states have taken different actions to reduce the spread of coronavirus, many of our favorite gyms have had to close temporarily. This includes gyms and sports clubs. You may be wondering how you can still get your exercise while still practicing social distancing. Luckily, it is still okay to exercise outdoors. Keep on reading to learn how to practice social distancing while exercising outdoors.

While you may not have access to the workout equipment of your gym, you have several alternative options available in the outdoors. One of the most common exercises that people are enjoying is walking. You can explore your neighborhood or if there are trails still open, you can find a new hiking spot. All you have to do is remain six feet away from other people and you’ve got your cardio in for the day.

Another exercise that you can do outside is bodyweight exercises. While these don’t have much resistance as using weights, you can still continue to work your muscles. If you’re a heavy lifter, use this opportunity to do some intense yard care. Digging up your garden, carrying bags of soil and moving garden rocks are all creative ways to incorporate weights.

While exercising outdoors, you’ll also gain some additional benefits. One of the first benefits you’ll notice is that you’ll be saving money. Although some gyms are more affordable, having an extra $10 or $20 can help out during this time. Another benefit you notice is that your mode will improve, and any depression will be reduced.
